During the second half of 2013 many movie fanatics and comic books aficionados criticized the choice of Warner Bros. to give the role of Wonder Woman to Gal Gadot. Gal Gadot is an Israeli model and actress that made a name in Hollywood with the role of Gisele Harabo a character from the Fast and Furious franchise. Still we believe that Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder are knowing what they are doing because to date there have been many criticized casting decision which turned out to be right.

One of the most commented casting decision at the time was also related to a DC comic book hero, Batman. During the late 1980s, Michael Keaton a well known comedy actor was chosen for the role of Batman. This decision was described as scandalous by some and as unacceptable by others. However despite all the negativity around this choice and the pressure with which the role came, Michael Keaton managed to nail it. In fact he played his role with such smoothest and flow that to date he is still considered as the best Batman ever.

Another highly controversial casting decision was the decision of giving the role of James Bond to Daniel Craig. After all James Bond has black eyes and black hair and Daniel Craig doesn’t. Some even went so far and said that the different between Daniel Craig and the other actors that played the legendary spy in terms of acting skills is incomparable. Still Daniel Craig managed to play a pretty good James Bond and win the love of numerous James Bond fanatics. Even more his acting was so good that he instantly became the favorite James Bond of many, surpassing actors like Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton and Roger Moore who played the role for a period of 12 years.

The next discussed casting choice which we will present to you is also related to a Batman movie. When Heath Ledger was chosen to play the Joker, Batman’s archenemy many critics, directors and actors including Jack Nicholson who played the Joker in the 1989 Batman movie were against the decision. However once that The Dark Knight premier in 2008 everybody including the fiercest opponents of Heath Ledger had to acknowledge that the Australian actor had managed to put on a legendary performance which will be used as a benchmark for the years and decades to come.

The last casting controversy that we will turn your attention to is the role of Catwoman in the sequel of The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises. Previous to The Dark Knight Rises, Catwoman had appeared three times on the big screen, once in 1966 when Lee Meriwether played the role, once in 1992 when Michelle Pfeiffer played one of her most memorable roles and once in 2004 when Halle Berry played the role of the heroine in a standalone movie. This time the role was given to Anne Hathaway who is one of Hollywood’s top actresses but still had never played such a role in her career. Still the black haired, always smiling Hathaway managed to put a solid performance that many compare to Pfeiffer’s performance.

As you see movie makers do know what they are doing despite what every movie fanatic is trying to say and prove via absurd and not so absurd statements. And this is why we believe that Gal Gadot shouldn’t be judged before the release of Batman vs Superman, but after. Because she may just turn up to place a huge performance that will allow her to put her name amongst the aforementioned actors that contradicted the audience’s opinion that they are not fit for their roles. Even more Gal Gadot won’t be the only actor that will be placed under scrutiny once that the movie premiers due to the fact that many views don’t accept and understand the choice of Ben Affleck for Batman’s role.

The fact that two talented and highly rated actors will have to prove themselves to the audience and critics makes us genuinely believe that the Batman vs Superman movie will be a total 2016 blockbuster that will not only impress viewers with a strong plotline, amazing special effects and slick directing, but will high quality acting performances.
