Gal Gadot, alongside her husband Jaron Varsano, will start a brand new production company called Pilot Wave.
Their first project is called Irena Sendler. It is based on a true story of a Christian woman that risked her life and saved more than 2,500 Jewish children during World War II. She was a social worker that Aided Jews. She managed to go to the Warsaw Ghetto (created by Nazi Germany for all jews) and helped a lot of children escape.
She sneaked the children in coffins, underneath stretchers, and similar ways she could think of.
Irena placed all of the saved children in Christian families, giving them fake names and IDs by faking documents.
Sadly, she was arrested in 1943, was tortured, and was given a death sentence but she still managed to escape.
Irena died at the age of 98 in 2008. She was honored by Israeli’s official Holocaust memorial.
The main character will be played by Gal herself and will co-produce with her husband, Jaron Varsano, and Marc Platt (the producer of ‘‘Aladdin’’, ‘‘Mary Poppins Returns’’, and more).
Gal and Jaron say that all of their projects will be based on stories that inspired them.
