Gal Gadot wearing Audrey Hepburns’ Tiffany Diamond in Death on the Nile

The upcoming movie Death on the Nile presented their first trailer earlier this week and everyone can’t stop talking about Gal Gadot and the diamond she is wearing in one of the scenes.

What is so special about this diamond?

The yellow diamond that Gal is wearing has a long history.

The 287.42-carat stone is very rare and was first discovered in 1877 in the Kimberley mines by Tiffany & Co-founder Charles Lewis Tiffany. Later, it was cut in Paris which enhanced the colour and transformed it into a 128.54-carat cushion-shape diamond. This makes it a unique and one of a kind piece.

In 1961, Audrey Hepburn wore it in the classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s making this piece very well known.

In 2019, Lady Gaga wore the beautiful diamond to the Oscars.

Now, it is reportedly worth over $30 million but many describe it as “priceless”.

The production was granted permission to use the Tiffany Diamond in the movie and the chief artistic officer of Tiffany, Reed Krakoff, stated that the diamond is priceless and it rarely makes any appearance. He added that it usually sits in a vault, however, the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic novel is worthy of using this statement Tiffany piece.

When will the movie be released?

The release of Death on the Nile will be this October. It is said that Tiffany & Co will promote the movie in all of their stores as well as all of their social media platforms.

Some stores will also feature a special collection which is inspired by looks from the movie – in New York, Los Angeles, and London.
